Taxes


The Sales, Local and Other Tax rates are defined in this screen. Based on the values that you enter here, the total amount will be automatically calculated in the Reservation screen.

To access the Tax Rates screen, select Setup > Taxes menu item in the main menu. The Tax Rates screen is displayed.

Enter the Tax Rate and Select the Tax Type. Taxes Type can be of three types:

  1. Enter the Tax Rate.

  2. Select the Tax Type. Taxes can be of three types:

  3. ·    Percent of Amount: Percentage amount of the Room Total

    ·    Flat Amount: A flat amount is charged irrespective of the Room Total

    ·    Inclusive GST: GST Amount is 9.09% of the Room Total

    ·    Inclusive Tax: Inclusive Tax percent is the tax that is calculated on tax (Room Total + Extra Person Charge + Tax.)

  4. If the tax applies to lodging, select the Applies to Lodging check-box. Taxes will be applicable to reservations only if this check-box is selected.

  5. To change the labels, click on the Change Tax Labels button. For example, you can change ‘Local Tax’ to say ‘Bed Tax’.

 

Add Tax Rates

Click on the Clear button if the old rates are displayed.

  1. Enter the Sales Tax Amount and select Tax Type. Click on Applies to Lodging check-box if Sales Tax is applicable to reservations.

  2. Enter the Local Tax Amount and select Tax Type. Click on Applies to Lodging check-box if Local Tax is applicable to reservations.

  3. Enter the Other Tax Amount and select Tax Type. Click on Applies to Lodging check-box if Other Tax is applicable to reservations.

  4. Then click on Save button to save the rates.

Click on the Close button to exit the screen.
