Database Backup
Database Backup is one of the most useful and essential features of Easy InnKeeping. Using this option, you will be able to make a backup copy of all the data that you had entered in the system. If you regularly maintain backup copies of your database, you can use the backed up database, even if you lose the main database. Easy InnKeeping database can get corrupted after power outages, computer crash or other unexpected circumstances.
The best way to protect yourself is to backup your database on a regular basis using the following procedures.
Do not backup using the same floppy disk everyday to backup your database. Floppy disks cannot handle that kind of frequent activity. This could cause bad sectors on the Floppy disks. Computers can write to bad floppy disks without displaying any errors, but will not be able to retrieve data from a bad floppy disk, and in turn, would result in loss of data.
Zip drives and rewritable CD drive can store more data and at the same time are more reliable than floppy disks.
Also, store your backup data off-site about once a month, to protect against natural disaster or theft.
The files that are backed are the database files. All the files located in the database folder under the Easyinn folder (C:\Easyinn\Database) are backed up. The default backup location is C:\Easyinn\Database\Backup\database.zip
